Defib Awareness Days. A totally flexible day of micro presentations to groups throughout the company or site. Gives all members of staff an indication of what would happen in an emergency and how they should respond and how they can assist the trained first aiders. Makes all members of staff aware of the benefits of having a defib and the need to respond to an emergency promptly following the companys action plan for a life threatening emergency.
Defib Training for First Aiders. This training is available to those companies who have the vision and funding to introduce these potentially life saving devices into the workplace. This half day training is for existing first aiders in the workplace and it is designed for up to 6 candidates who will work individually and in groups to perform the required tasks. This training has a continious assessment protocol.
This fully interactive course covers adult basic life support and the use of AED to save the casualty. Individual and teamwork will be used to build the skills and first aiders confidence in the use of AEDs both at work and in the community.
The course is a half day, candidates must hold a current first aid certificate and the course is suitable for up to six candidates.
This training is suitable within working enviroments where risk assessments have identified the need for oxygen administration. Involves candidates working on own initiative as well as working in teams to deliver adult basic life support, operate the defib and administer oxygen, helping to focus the rescue effort and build teamwork within the group.
Oxygen is a drug and its use is limited by law.
Defib Training for All. Defibs have a great potential to save lives. The more people who are trained to use them the better the chance of saving a casualty. There are many people in the workplace who although not first aiders recognise the importance of AEDs and the need for a quick response in this life threatening situation
Unlike first aid where we can afford to wait for a fully trained first aider to arrive, sudden cardiac arrest requires immediate action. This course is designed to take people with no prior knowledge through the skills neccessary to deal with heart attack and sudden cardiac arrest.
The aim of the course is to create confident first responders. We cover the recognition and treatment of heart attack. We train people to recognise sudden cardiac arrest and to begin adult basic life support (early access to adult basic life support is one of the key principles in the chain of survival).
Candidates are trained how to use the AED. Working in teams and individually candidates learn how to opperate the defib as per the RESUS Councils Guidelines. this course is designed to help people react effectively in what may be the most stressful situation they will ever encounter.
This AED training is suitable for all and assumes no prior knowledge. Ideal for companies who have AEDs or want to introduce them into the workplace, have few first aiders and want to maximise the effectiveness of their AED response potential by training other employees to use this potentially life saving device.
People are more willing to learn to use AEDs than do first Aid. From experience most first aiders will automatically do training, however the greater bulk of staff within a company who do not express a wish to be first aid trained will normally produce more than enough volunteers to provide sufficient trained respose in the workplace, especially as AEDs become more readily available in the ouitside world.
Also ideal for groups setting up public access AEDs within our communities. This one day course covers resus and the use of the aed for both individual first responders and working with other rescuers.
